“Saudade” is Timm’s courageous way to connect both Brazilian and German cultures in one song. Timm and producer Emmerson Villani bring a fresh Brazilian twist to German Schlager and playfully dare to answer the rhetorical question of “how to say Saudade in German”, with no concrete answer. Timm and Villani were able to ingeniously synthesize both German Schlager and Brazilian Funk into a fun and bouncy new hybrid genre ‘Brazilian Schlager’. With “Sauadade” Timm tastefully captures German language & culture with his whimsical lyrics. Saudade auf Deutsch is an ode to Berlin, his home away from home.
It's Not a Coincidence We've Met
About those berlin encounters… In a bar/cafe you get to know someone that turns your world upside down, you have a great night - or a few - together, and in the end, it turns out to be an ephemeral encounter that changes you forever. You leave the club and it’s suddenly grey outside.
Ella & Louis
feat. JAMILA AL YOUSEF
As the name proposes (Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong) this song is about the romantic vision/projection of a relationship, embracing this 20’s mood and what these amazing jazz singers represented. In my storyline - I am in my first depressive winter in Berlin and realize all the issues still from my past relationship. A song we (me and my ex) composed together about envisioning the delights and defeats of a long-term relationship - quoting the song “we could count down the stars, sleep with each other, write us a letter… wondering where we will be twenty years from now” - this song sounds like a classic, jazzy and brings the red velvet and good wine vibe. Or maybe just drunken.
This song was born in the burst of the pandemic. And I was in nature in a super privileged and magical place in Brazil. So it was easy to feel safe enough to sing in a joyful way about being ready to be the best version of me.
“But now I know, I am ready to read you. I throw away my mask and put on my smile. Fall into your rhythm and dance in the face of the fear of being the best that I can be”
This was the first song Danilo composed in Berlin, in a 20qm apartment where he was living with a couple he was in love with. The song is about the communication issues one faces navigating a polyamorous reletionship, and how intense the journey may be.
feat. BRUNA GUERIN
Solto carries the playful, loose and multidimensional freedom that NILØ enjoys with one of their friends Bruna. Also from Brazil, Bruna co-wrote and is the featured artist that sings alongside Timm. The loose pop structure of the song calls for listeners to let loose. The song title “Solto” means “loose” in English. Timm says “Solto is so loose that it travels within musical dimensions” like in the recent film “Everything Everywhere All At Once” jumping from pop to musical theater and right back to pop. This songs zooms into an episode Timm’s life where living away abroad has helped to gain a deeper appreciation for the friendships that are dear to their heart.
Não Se Controla
About the power of love, it can fertilize or kill any ground and you never know how deep its paradox will be.
A song that has a transformation - starts with a meditation about having seen someone again and realizing that those feelings are still there / followed by a darker and deep moment about processing this realization / bursting into a joyful disco dance and letting love do its thing, destroying and healing whatever needs to be healed.
Não tem mistério
Não Tem Mistério (There Is No Mystery)…is Danilo Timm’s eight episode of their sonic series NiLØ. When digitally streamed or witnessed live, Não Tem Mistério tends to elevate the energy of the room, suspend time, stretch the present moment, and increase the density of the space with shimmering purple sonic-lightwaves. Conceived as a simple floating melody over non-complex guitar riffs, then growing to become an 80’s synth-pop anthemic call from the future. A future that whispered to Timm words of wisdom to encourage their partner to fearlessly embrace all his emotions, good or bad, hence it is in that embrace where depth and strength, needed to grow, reside. The beauty of being human is also to be seen in that vulnerable space, just as you are.
something about us
feat. HEART CHOR
The only cover of the project, this classic from Daft Punk is always warming the listeners heart when Danilo sings this song. A soft romantic version in Bossa Nova style, that is going to count with the voices of the Heart Chor as a featuting act.
i love life
The closing song of the series, I Love Life unearths Timms uprising in Musical Theater and Jazz, and gives space for the crooner to shine in a song that sounds like an old timer. A lullaby and ode to ones tru love above all lovers - life itself.

Led by Chilean Cristóbal Rey and Brazilian Danilo Timm, the Berlin-based band incorporates regional elements in their compositions.
In a rhythmic tour full of references that transit through bossa nova, baião, alt-rock, and jazz, the band embraces with trilingual lyrics (Portuguese, English, and Spanish) various themes they encountered throughout their journey such as metaphysics, politics, stories, and atmospheres.
